Online Degrees Change Education in The Modern World

By: Ken McCauley

The word is finally out: the educational world is changing - at a very fast pace. In your father's day, you graduated from high school only to begin attending college - and you didn't stop until you graduated (or dropped out). Only then did you begin your 'adult' life - a career and family.

All that has changed today. Often people will pursue military service. Perhaps they will fall in love at a young age and start a family. Perhaps they just did not feel ready for college when they were a high school graduate.

At some point in the future, however, a person recognizes the need for more educational training. But at that time in life, it seems like it is too late to pick up the pieces and go back to school. Family responsibilities, the care of elderly parents, and existing full-time job commitments make it impossible to devote several years to pursuing educational goals. Did you know that the average University student is much older ? Yes, it really is true: more than ever, people are going back to school later in life.

That's where the University of Phoenix comes in. Some years ago, they realized that traditional educational environments were changing - and they changed with it. They are known today as innovators in higher education - they have redesigned the traditional college curriculum so that people with adult lives and commitments CAN attend classes - online. The folks at the University of Phoenix realized that many adults just don't have the time to go to daily classes, so they have leveraged the power of the computer to bring those classes to you!

What types of courses and degree programs are currently offered through the University of Phoenix? Well, you can choose programs in Criminal Justice, Marketing, Management, Accounting, Business, E-Commerce, Health Care, IT (Information Technology), Nursing, Education - and new programs are being added all the time. All of their instructors hold Masters or Doctorate degrees.

You might be amazed, but it is true nonetheless: through the University of Phoenix, you can earn your degree in about 2-3 years! For those students who qualify, financial aid is available. They offer non-degree programs, as well as Bachelors and Masters degrees. Once again, and with your needs in mind, they hold classes on nights and weekends, and major assignments can be completed during the weekends - this minimizes any disruptions to your schedule during the week.

One thing that I absolutely LOVE about the University of Phoenix is that you will be assigned a real, live human being as a contact and resource person. So if you have any questions about their programs, or need to make payment arrangements, or need help in getting enrolled - they are there for you. You can email or telephone them, and they will help you to get off to a great start.

So, my friend, let me ask you: Just what are you waiting for? You know, down deep in your heart, that you need more education - even your close friends and family have been telling you that, right? You have the need, certainly. The question is: do you have the drive - the desire to succeed - the need to improve yourself and your lot in life? If so, the University of Phoenix is the place to be!
